Check Website For Error And Search Engine Compatibility

Professionalism is the cornerstone of any good website. To exhibit professionalism, you must be capable of running good content with frequency that will keep your audience coming back on a regular basis. Most site owners understand this when they start their enterprise, but they often do not give enough research time to the important behind the scenes activities that keep their sites running smoothly. The best and most frequent content in the world will do you little good when you have multiple errors and search engine compatibility issues. If you are facing site errors, you will annoy the people, who find you, and if you are experiencing problems with search engine compatibility, then you will never be able to gain access to the organic traffic that your site needs to grow. Luckily, there are ways that you can fight against these issues.
First of all, you need to check with your hosting provider to see if they have any tools in place that can help you run scans on multiple site checkpoints. Doing so will seamlessly allow you to see if there are any broken links or other annoying issues that occur with websites, which threaten to derail their popularity. Likewise, these checkpoints will make notations if there are any communication issues between the website and the major engines that are most likely to bring in the traffic. Once you know where these issues exist, you can cut out a lot of the fix-it time with the diagnostic information.
Most quality hosting companies will give you access to these tools because they understand that more and more people are moving online. But while the amount of upstart websites are on the rise, the knowledge level of advanced web functions is still limited. Being able to simplify these terms, so site owners can hit the ground running and be assured that all their i's and t's are taken care of ahead of time sets the stage for success. Without the much needed information that these analytics provide, you could be the proverbial tree in the forest that falls with no one around to hear it. If you're not reaching an audience, do you really have a website?
There are many factors that can take away from your site's professionalism, which is the last thing that you want to do when you are dealing with the competition of the World Wide Web. Weeding out the errors and allowing the search engines to find you is a sure way to get ahead, and stay ahead, of the competition. Before you are online another day, check with your hosting company and see what tools and training they have in place to give you the info you need.

Search Engine Optimization: An Ever Growing Process

In today's modern world having a website for any online business is the best means to reach out to millions of potential customers. It is due to this that the visibility of the website should always be very high so that viewers searching for some information can find the website at that particular moment. There are many things that need to be considered to make a site attractive to the visitors, but one should remember that optimizing the web pages for the search engine is crucial for the growth of the business. Search engine optimization is a process or technique that is used to gain a top ranking with all the major search engines and this in turn draws a lot of traffic to the site. Now the point is whether search engine is a continuous process or simply a state? Can we sit back comfortably once we have achieved a higher rank in the SERP? This piece of writing will discuss the point in details.
SEO a Process
The definition of SEO has changed over the past few years. Earlier obtaining a higher ranking only meant stuffing some chosen keywords in the content, adding page titles, Meta tags and then waiting to get the page indexed by Google. But today things have changed a lot and the competition among SEO experts have become stiff. These professionals are aware of the latest algorithms of the search engines and the white hat and black hat SEO techniques. For higher rankings, SEO professionals also started using unfair means and tried to cheat the search, but with time, the crawlers became advanced and the search engines discovered new techniques of uncovering patterns that are related to the structure, content and end user data.
Business owners who are willing to maintain their top position with the search engines must realize the fact that search engine is a continuous process and not a state that can be obtained once and left for ever. A business site that is performing high today may not give the same results six months later and it is here that SEO experts use their knowledge and expertise to look for more links, enhance the content of the web pages to make it fresh and even do some more research so that the site rankings remain stable and do not drop easily.
Why search engines have constantly updated the algorithms?
Search engines try their best to avert manipulation of the rankings and offer the visitors most qualified and informative results. Using proper SEO techniques to increase the visibility of the website requires some time. It is true that a website will not attain a higher ranking in the SERP within 24 hours; it needs a continuous effort from SEO professionals having thorough understanding of the changing algorithms of the search engines. There are webmasters who try to unveil the deep secrets of these algorithms and try to exploit the loopholes to obtain a higher ranking. They found foul methods of stuffing the web page with keywords that remained invisible in the eyes of the spiders. This approach has made the search engines tighten the security over the algorithms and the process that they apply to judge the relevancy of the website based on the key search terms. Google placed filters to check the repeated use of the chosen keywords or phrases and devalued the web page. SEO experts have to constantly update themselves and adhere to the strict guidelines of the search engines or their websites may be banned from the engines.
Websites that gained rankings by unfair means lost their position as soon as the algorithms were changed. Though they did not disappear completely but they failed to secure the top ranking for the key terms. Today most of the reputed SEO companies proffer customized solutions to their clients that are tailor made to cater to their unique business needs. It is vital to understand that every business is unique based on this point, webmasters should proceed with the optimization of the website. All the recent developments in the algorithms and the optimization techniques have enabled the visitors to view more accurate and informative results. Today, we can say that SEO is all about optimizing various file types, getting qualitative inbound links, publishing fresh and informative content, appropriate selection of keywords, thorough market analysis and above all use of white hat techniques while following the guidelines of the search engines.
This process of continuous development even in future will enable us to view reliable and relevant results and contribute to the growth of the entire SEO industry. Time ahead, the results will be based on geo locations, preferred search engines, search history and other approaches that will slowly change the SEO process and techniques used by the SEO experts today.

Google, Yahoo And Bing Local Optimization Secrets

Do you know that you can get a lot more traffic with local optimization? What exactly is local optimization and how does it work? More importantly, how can optimization bring you more traffic? We will explore these questions and more in this article.
What is Local Ranking?
Very often, search users are looking for specific places using their favorite search engines. For example, let's say you are hungry and you want to look for a good place to dine. You fire up your favorite search engine, and then punch in a keyword phrase like "pizza, New York."
The fact that "New York" is part of the keyword phrase tells the search engines something about your intent. You are searching for a specific place (very likely a business) that is located in New York City.
Traditional search results cannot give you what you want because you will get websites from UK, Canada, and all over the world. So the information is hardly useful to you. By entering the city, you are telling the search engine to limit the search to businesses that are located in this particular location.
The search engine will then return a list of relevant results - results showing restaurants or places that sell pizzas. You may then pick a place to visit from the map.
Local results usually appear right below the ads and above traditional search results. In other words, the results will appear in the top fold of the browser. A typical search will reveal 7 to 8 top searches. If you want to view more results, you can always navigate to the second or third page. Usually, most people will just visit the first 3 to 4 links.
Huge benefits for business owners.
Local listings provide huge benefits to business owners because the web visitors are super targeted. They are very likely to become customers because they are already actively searching for some product or service. All you have to do is to offer your goods and services to them via Google Local.
Many web business owners find it tough to compete in traditional SEO due to competition. The search engines are getting really saturated. Local listings becomes a great alternative. You can easily get to the first page of the search engines by having a well ranked local listing. So how do you achieve that?
Local optimization tips.
One obvious way to get a higher ranking is to get as many citations as possible. Citations come from web pages that list your business information such as address and phone number. The more citations you get, the more valid your business listing is from the perspective of the search engines.
In a way, citations are like back links. Each citation counts as a formal "vote" for your business. It's solid proof that your business is a real business that exist in that particular location.
There are literally hundreds of citation sources that Google, Yahoo and Bing use to get business data. Submit your URLs to as many of these sites as possible and get your business data out there.

Page Ranks and SEO for Beginners

Getting a high Google rating - a good page rank number - is a critical part of bringing in free search traffic.
What is a page rank?
A page rank is Google's way of expressing the value and popularity of your page. Each page has a page ranking. It's not a site ranking, per se, although your site rank is usually considered the page rank of the top page.
The basic definition of page rank assumes that zero is low, and 10 is the highest possible rank. 5 is a decent page rank for any site. 7 and 8 are extremely popular sites. Google is one of the few at 10.
Search traffic is traffic resulting from someone entering search words into Google, and Google giving them a list of URLs which includes yours. And ideally, you want your site's URL on one of Google's first few result pages.
How do you know what your rating is?
It's easy to measure the page rank of your own site or any other site, if you install the free Google Bar. Go to Google and click on "more". One of the options is Google Tool Bar. Then just follow the installation instructions.
When you have your Google tool bar, you'll see a small white rectangle in that tool bar that is a bar graph. It shows the page rank of the site you're looking at. If it's all white, then that site has a rank of zero. If it's gray, then it's unranked. If it has a page rank above zero, you'll see a red bar extending across the rectangle in proportion to the page rank.
What does it mean to have a page rank?
A good page rank means that other popular websites link to you, and vote for your importance. (By linking, they are automatically voting for your importance.) And the value of their vote is determined by how well they are ranked. So you want a lot of popular sites to link to you.
Page rank is a complex calculation made by Google, based on the links that go to your site - and the sites that you link to from your site.
Some SEO experts say that when you link to other sites from your site, it is important to link only to high ranked sites - that is, a page rank of 5 or higher. It is believed by the Internet gurus that by linking to low page rank sites, Google thinks you're linking to a low value site.
How important is it to have a good page rank?
It's extremely important if you want search traffic. There's an entire industry called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, which is concerned entirely with optimizing the traffic to your site. Page rank is an important part of that. If you've got the budget, it would make good sense to research and hire an SEO consultant. If you don't have the budget, you can do it yourself.
If you're going to do this yourself, here are the steps:
1. Optimize your own site. That includes having a site map, having metadata done appropriately on each page (metadata includes key words and description), and optimizing the use of keywords on the page content. It also includes a regular schedule for new content on the site. For details on these features, check out Website-DoItYourself.
2. Email popular sites, and ask them to link to you. You can offer something in exchange, for instance a free ad or a link exchange. Use a link exchange if your site is compatible with their site, but not a competitor.
3. Entering your site into every search engine on the planet, even though possibly 4 of them cover most of the search traffic. These specialized search engines that no one has ever heard of, often have very good page rank. If they link to you, that's a win for your site.

The Secrets of Social Bookmarking for SEO

Secondly, there are a number of useful social bookmarking for SEO sites which dofollow links back. These websites are smaller in size and seem to appear and disappear a lot, so while they are not great in the long term, they are useful for a one time boost. Mind you, they won't be sending lots of traffic your way, but they are providing a backlink to your site: no more and no less.
By now you might know that most good social bookmarking sites place nofollow commands on links, meaning that these are not useful for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies. So, you may rightly ask yourself if having a social bookmarking strategy is not helpful for getting top spots on Google. Is social bookmarking for SEO useless? Happily, the answer is no.
First of all, widespread exposition to your content on big sites can get you noticed on other, smaller sites that dofollow links. By having your work exposed on prestigious sites, you yourself gain prestige. Indirectly, this means links because people will not only read your current work, but will also be more likely to read your future work if you become a respected voice in your niche market.
But there is a more important factor to take into account and which has to do with SEO and its dangers. A recent change in Google's algorithm left thousands of companies in the U.S. floundering when they suddenly found they had dropped full pages on their Google rankings. They had gone from making a living to making virtually nothing in just one day. Social bookmarking can protect you against this. If you share helpful and important content on delicious or any other site, and your business is good, you can 'transfer' a portion of the community onto your site and make them regular clients. In this way, not only will you see a surge in revenue, but you will also protect your business against these sudden modifications in the Google algorithm.
In conclusion, social bookmarking for SEO is mainly an indirect process, but a useful one as long as you remember that content is still king and that you work patiently. By spending less than an hour a day - every day! - engaging users and luring them to your site, you will see solid long term results which will bring about a lot of positives for your business, making it more solid against the unforeseen changes that Google brings about.
I know, I just said content is king and some SEO's out there may be wringing their hands. But that's the whole point of a good social bookmarking for SEO strategy (aside from participation): sharing great content and getting it noticed by lots of other users and websites.
